Not as big as we thought he would be but still a pretty good sized boy!

Jack modeling his new hat and booties sent from one of the ladies in my grandmother's Wednesday knitting group! SO cute!

Emma meeting and holding Jack for the first time! (I know I'm not looking so hot but this was literally 10 minutes or less out of my surgery!) When I got to the recovery room Jack and most of our family were there waiting for me!

Proud Big Sister! Annie T. with Jack for the first time!

Gracie wants in on the action! She couldn't wait to hold "baby jack"!

Sweet Brother and Sisters!

This boy's gonna have lots of mamas! :) His Uncle Daniel has already promised to make sure he's "tough enough" since he has to live in a house with all of these girls!

Jack and Daddy reading a little Rick Bragg!
Just a few pictures from baby Jack's first few days! I'm sure there will be more to come!

ITCHY!

Have you ever been covered up in bug bites...mosquitos, chiggers, ants....anything itchy? Just totally covered from head to toe and feeling AWFUL, like nothing would take away the itch? Now multiply that feeling times 10 or maybe 100 and that's where I am tonight! I am SO itchy these days! I always get this stupid pregnancy rash that just makes me want to scratch my skin off...it is SO miserable! It has a really long technical name but I can't remember what it is....what I can remember is that it really stinks! There is really nothing you can do about it and it just kinda goes away on it's own after delivery! With each of my pregnancies I have gotten it earlier and earlier so I am so thankful that I am only days away from delivering and being itch free (and also meeting our sweet Jack)! With Gracie I itched for at least 12 weeks....seriously it was the most miserable I can EVER remember being! Of course I wasn't itching when I went to the Dr. on Monday so I will have to either call tomorrow and get some kind of prescription or wait until next Monday to do anything about it....my c section is scheduled for Tuesday so it seems a little silly to mention on Monday! We'll see!
One of the worst things about it is I cannot get it off my mind! It's so crazy how all consuming this itching is. I can't sleep. Don't really want to eat. Can't sit still. I am grouchy and short with my kids. It makes me not want to take a shower because getting out of the shower leaves my skin even drier and itchier than before (I'm sure my family is loving this trend!)! YIKES! Thankfully it is not something that is harmful to me or baby Jack....just a HUGE annoyance! AND to top it all off, Auburn has a HUGE ballgame this weekend (that my Dr. cleared me to attend....probably my last one of the season) and I don't even know if I will be able to go OR to enjoy it if I do go....especially since heat makes it even worse! AND I'm sure if I do go I'll be so occupied by my itchy belly that I won't be able to pay attention to the game...what a bummer!
Thankfully for all of you I lost my camera a week or so ago and have not replaced it yet so there are no itchy belly pictures to be shared (I wouldn't do that anyway...it's just gross)! Again, I know (and am trying to remind myself constantly) that in the scheme of things this is NOT a big deal....this is not something that should be rocking my world like it is! BUT boy is it miserable! SO...eye on the prize....6 days and counting til we meet the little one who will make all of this itching worth it (but don't think I won't be reminding him of these days when he starts to do something to break his momma's heart...I am SO not above that)!

A SAD day (alternately titled I am such a dummy!)

As the countdown to Baby Jack is rapidly winding down (he'll be here two weeks from today!), we feel the need to squeeze in a few more adventures before this family of five becomes a family of SIX! Wanting to make the most of EVERY minute possible we loaded up and headed to Chattanooga to spend (part) of the weekend with my family!
We got to Chattanooga just in time for Daniel's ballgame...which happened to be against their biggest rival. Because it is such a big deal and so many people want to be there they play at the UTC stadium downtown...it is a mad house! I promise there are people everywhere! I think this year I heard that there were 12,000 people in attendance! I don't know about y'all but I think that's A LOT of people for a high school football game! Daniel has had a great season so far (yay!); his team not so much! I know he is VERY frustrated because he is passionate about some football....that makes all of us frustrated too! Anyway, the Blue Tornado couldn't hold off the Red Raiders so we all left the ballgame feeling a little blue (no pun intended!).
On Saturday my sweet mom kept the girls so Josh and I could go to the Auburn game...I'm afraid it may be my last one of the season! :( We played LA Monroe and it was pretty much a blow out (which after the last 2 games was kinda nice but boring)! We had time for a quick lunch and visit with our sweet friends Megan and Chris and then headed back to Chattanooga! The girls had a great time with Mom (and Dad once he finished refereeing)! Dad took Annie out on the jet ski and Mom took the little girls to play in the fountain at Coolidge park! I got so tickled at Annie because she told me she really wanted to swim so Dad let her jump in the river....she said she came up with her teeth chattering! :) What a wild one!
On Sunday, we were all exhausted after a weekend of fun! We planned to get up and go to church but didn't make it...we just couldn't get our act together! Instead we decided to take the girls to the cardboard hill to sled and down to the River Park to play awhile! It was such a nice day....even a little chilly when the wind was blowing! While we were sliding on the cardboard hill I went to the car to grab my camera (this is where the big dummy part comes in!) and it wasn't there! I didn't think that much about it...I just figured I took it inside at Mom and Dad's house! We enjoyed the rest of our day and when we got home I started looking for my camera. It was no where to be found! (Just about 18 months ago Josh and I finally decided to splurge and bought a really NICE camera....one with a memory card that had approx. 2000 pictures of our last year on it! Pictures that I haven't backed up anywhere!) Oh no! I realized that the last time I remember having it was at the ballgame on Friday night...I KNOW i took a picture of Daniel on the sidelines! I guess in all the rush and disappointment and gathering kids and stuff I just left it in our seats! I am just sick about the whole thing! We called the stadium and the guy we talked to was super nice but said that nothing had been turned it! I am praying that someone realizes how special ALL of those pictures are and turns it in! Not to mention the fact that Jack will be here very soon and as of right now I have NO CAMERA! SO SAD!!!
Other than losing my camera we had a really great weekend (it just kinda put a damper on EVERYTHING else)! I keep reminding myself that so many people are facing so many worse things....we may have job and stuff issues sometimes but our marriage, our kids and our health are all good! We really are blessed....stuff can be replaced, jobs come and go but our family is happy and healthy. I'm thankful for God's goodness!
